I think not.
Went back through my wedding album today (yes, felt like a little emotional cutting) and was shocked when I re-read this excerpt from our wedding vows:
"In the spirit of love, I take you, Craig, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, now and forever. This is my solemn vow."
Now and forever.
Not til death do us part.
Forever.
Thank God.
Emily,
ReplyDeleteI know this is a comment from an old post, but this one touched me very much. I need to go back and look at our wedding vows to see what wording we used. "Now and forever" says everything.
"Till death do us part" .... isn't true. We will never be parted from them. Even when we do love someone else.
I found your blog through another's .... I can't remember which. I started my blog in 2007. My husband of almost 25 years died suddenly 3 months later, so my blog changed from a humorous family-update of raising 6 children, to one in which I purged all of emotions and grief through the keyboard.
I also write on the Widow's Voice bog .... have I seen you there?
Anyway .... hi, I'm Janine and we visit some of the same blogs.
It's nice to meet you.
:)
Thank you for stopping by, Janine! I don't think I've visited that one but I'll have to check it out now. I'm so sorry for your loss but I am glad to have "met" you! :)
DeleteI just found your blog today and I'm completely speechless. This entry cut me deep. It made everything real, and I'm not even the one experiencing it. I am so so sorry.
ReplyDeleteYour strength is inspiring.

Thank you, Bethany! I'm so glad you enjoyed this post.
